"The Brain" adapted in Portugal
Following the success of its first two seasons on W9 and M6+, the reality competition The Brain is set for its first international adaptation!
In Portugal, TVI is producing a local version of the reality game, which will be available on Prime Video in Portugal. The production is already underway through SeeMyDreams Productions, and the 12 episodes are expected to launch after the summer. This marks the first time a M6 Formats IP has been licensed to Prime Video, demonstrating the appeal of the catalogue.
This innovative strategy game brings iconic reality TV stars back to university to test their intellectual abilities and compete for the title of "Reality’s Biggest Brain."
Created by Studio 89 for W9, the first season of The Brain drew an average of 0.5 million viewers, achieving a 6% audience share among the 25–49 age group and 9% among 25–34-year-olds. It quickly became the most successful new daily reality show on W9 in years, and the second season attracted even larger audiences across all target demographics.
The format is currently under option in more than five European territories.
